thelostmaximoffI am bored and this meme is very fun.
1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 5 of these, then post.

Character/Pairing: John Allerdyce(Pyro)xKitty Pryde(Shadowcat)
"Selfish Man" by Flogging Molly (2:57)
She thinks he's a selfish bastard. Doesn't he realize that he has family here? Doesn't he realize how much she cares about him? Obviously none of that means anything to him because if it did then he wouldn't have left. Kitty thinks John is a selfish bastard and she hates him for it but there's something she hates even more than him. She hates herself because she realizes she's just as selfish as he supposedly is. She'd love nothing more than to see him walk back into her life but she knows it's never going to happen.

"Will You?" by P.O.D. (3:44)
Kitty presses her forehead against the window and blinks away a tear, her fingernails lightly scraping the glass as they reflexively close into fists. She thinks it's stupid for her to be crying over someone like John Allerdyce. Everyone would tell her she shouldn't waste her tears but they didn't know how much she cared about him. Maybe she didn't even know it, not completely anyway. Kitty just sits and thinks of all the times she secretly enjoyed his company while trading insults with him. Unknown to her, John Allerdyce is doing exactly the same thing a thousand miles away.

"You do realize you're making this out to be more complicated than it is, right?" asks Kitty as she turns and stares at John as he watches over her shoulder, "I'm not going to be around forever to do this for you."
"I thought you were supposed to be tutoring me," replies John with a smirk that Kitty finds strangely endearing in spite of its complete arrogance, "You have a very strange way of teaching."
"Look, the quicker I finish your math homework for you then the quicker we can get to other stuff," explains Kitty.
"What 'other stuff' are you referring to?" asks John with a grin.
"You'd be surprised," replies Kitty with a smirk of her own.

"A Lover I Don't Have to Love" by Bright Eyes (4:00)
He rolls over in the bed and comes face to face with her as she continues to sleep. John thinks Kitty looks surprising peaceful given how stressful her life is, how stressful both their lives are. Pyro sighs as he rolls out of the hotel bed and looks at the clothes strewn about the floor. He wonders how long they can keep this little tryst going before someone discovers it. It isn't as if either of them wants to stay on this merry-go-round but strangely neither of them wants to get off of it.
"We can't keep doing this," mumbles Pyro.
"One of us says that every time," replies Kitty softly, "You really wanna stop doing this?"
"No," admits John as he looks at her and smiles, "I probably couldn't if I tried."

Kitty wonders if things are destined to be this way with her on one side and John on the other. She believes everyone has a purpose in life but that doesn't mean that she has to like the way things are. Kitty, in fact, hates the way things are but if things are destined to be this way then she can't exactly stop it. She loves John, really she does, but this war between the X-Men and the Brotherhood will tear them apart eventually and she hates it. Were things meant to be this way? Maybe they were but it doesn't mean Kitty can't try to change destiny.
