1. Comment to this post with the name of a character that I have written in fic. Or geeked out about. You should probably make sure it's one I've written more than once or twice.

Tim Drake!

A. I think what I initially liked about Tim was that DC really tried to make him different from his predecessors. Tim never needs to be Robin. He's Robin because he understands that there has to be a Robin and no one else really wants the job. For Tim, the Robin suit is just a suit and while he understands the legacy that comes with it he decides to be his own Robin instead of just automatically trying to be a copy of Dick or Jason. Tim doesn't see himself as a sidekick nor does he feel the need to prove himself to Bruce. Tim just does the best he possibly can and I think that's pretty cool.

B. I think his best trait is his determination and courage. He was never athletically gifted like Dick or Jason but he was determined to do the absolute best job he could as Robin. After losing so many people close to him he still goes out there night after night to stick his neck out for the rest of the world because he believes it's the right thing to do. That takes a lot of guts.

C. I think Tim takes responsibility for too many things. Often times, he carries around the world on his shoulders and very rarely does he stop to ask help from any of the people around him even though they'd gladly help him in any way they could. I'd say he also tends to over-analyze things.

D. Honestly, once I find it very easy to write Tim. He kind of reminds me of Peter Parker or at least he does when I write him and I've always identified with Peter so it's easy for me to identify with Tim as well.

E. I think "Shadowboxing" is honestly the best story I've done with Tim (and Cass Cain as well). He really comes through as this great, old-school hero who still believes in fighting the good fight even though the world's falling down around him. This is from the fourth chapter:

"He knew this pain. So many nights after Stephanie’s death and his father’s death he would ask himself if he had chosen the right path. Was it worth it in the end? What was the price of making the world safe? Was it really worth losing everyone you loved? Tim Drake didn’t have answers to those questions. He couldn’t follow the right clues that would lead him to the solution. After Conner’s death, he felt that he had been pushed over some line. He had to push back though. He couldn’t let himself become this, couldn’t let himself become consumed by the pain of life."

F. I don't have any immediate plans for Tim. He and Cass will always be one of my favorite couples so he'll show up from time to time but for now I'm very pleased with the work I've done concerning him and I'm happy to just let it stand until I feel there's more I need to say with him.

(Evo) Toad.

A. At first, I just liked the chemistry he had with Wanda. He's a very endearing character and I like the idea of this awkward, gangly loser ending up getting the girl of his dreams. It's very fairytale-esque and somewhat naive but it's a nice cliche as far as cliches go.

B & C. I think Toad's loyalty is his greatest strength and weakness. The guy would litreally do anything for his friends and for the girl he loves. It's a strength because it shows how much he cares for everyone around him but it's a weakness because at times it almost completely blinds him to reality. I think it's sweet that he would do anything for Wanda but at the same time I sometimes find myself wanting him to just stand up for himself and tell her to stop treating him like crap and using her own emotional problems as the excuse to do so.

D. It's easy for me to write characters I identify with and Toad is someone I definitely identify with. These days, writing him sometimes makes me think about unhappy memories but I still find it easy to connect with him.

E. I think "Garbage Day" is the best thing I've done with Toad. I can't really find a specific paragraph or anything because I think it's really good as a whole. You really get to see how he views his life and why he's attracted to Wanda.

F. No immediate plans for Toad. He and Wanda are my favorite couple but I feel that (at least for now) I've done all I need to do with both of them. He'll show up again eventually but for now I don't have any plans for him.
